Visit the City of London, ON
London, Ontario is an old city, even older than its foundation date of 1826! It’s one of quirkier facts you’ll learn as you go about your travels in Canada.

The little hamlet on the Thames River was actually established in 1793 as a possible capital for the Province of Ontario. It’s since become one of the more modern cities in Ontario, despite losing the fight to the city of York (now Toronto), which later gave up to Ottawa.
This thriving metropolis is filled with modern skyscrapers, peaceful streets lined with gracefully spreading trees, and lots of open, green spaces. It’s also home to plenty of industries, with the Labatt Brewery nearly always number one on the list, being in constant operation since the 1840s.
There are many places to visit as well, notable among them is Banting House, the restored home of Sir Frederick G. Banting, the physician who was able to isolate insulin during the turbulent period of World War I. Another must-see is the Museum London with turn-of-the-century paintings of London’s cityscape and street life plus numerous antique furnishings, agricultural tools, and other historical artifacts.
The agricultural industry is still thriving as well. A visit to the Farmer’s Market in Covent Garden shows of an array of fresh produce, meats, fish, and myriad other things produced by local farmers. Of course this isn’t just any old market, it’s been established since the 1840s and is another picture-perfect site in London.

End each day of exploration with a superb dinner, with the seafood being recommended in almost every restaurant. The edible offerings in London are of the highest quality, as is the service that accompanies it, with spectacular views and live entertainment seeming almost a common occurrence.
After your dinner, why not take in a show? The Grand Theater is one of the most famous in the area, with all the shows promising to be stellar performances, and it keeps its promises!
