The Niagara Falls a Canadian Vacation Spot
The place known as Golden Horseshoe Region located at southern Ontario has Niagara River flowing through the area and creating Niagara fall while entering New York area.
The Niagara River has two waterfalls one on American side and other is at Golden Horseshoe. Both the falls can be viewed more vividly from Canadian side. As a result the city on the Canadian side has greater tourist appeal and choice, bringing millions of tourists annually. The city got permission for developing the tourist area by the sides of the fall and gorge.
The tourist area is spread all along the Niagara River parkway. The concentrations of the tourist area increases very near to the fall maintaining the natural composition of the area and providing for tremendous parking places for the vehicles with built in souvenir shopping area, amidst high rise Hotel complexes, theaters, casinos and high height observation towers for the amusement of the tourists.
All over there are splendid neon sign displays by the advertising media. Towards the north are Golf courses around the historically important war sites.
There is great entertainment with nightlife and concerts, excellent dining places, spas and wine country very nearby. The children, visiting Niagara Falls admire the location and nature wonder in place besides water parks located inside the hotel complexes. There is a Butterfly Conservatory and Marine land.
The location of Niagara Falls is only 20 minutes drive from Buffalo International Airport and it takes one hour to reach here from Toronto area.
Looking at the History of Niagara Falls:
From the beginning of the 17th century the Niagara Falls area has witnessed settlements initially by Iroquois and subsequently by Europeans being attracted by the majesty of the falls.
Real tourism started beginning in the early 19th century and has immensely contributed towards the economic growth of the area. In addition to the tourism due to natural wonders, Niagara Falls has become a honeymoon place for newly married couples from all over the world converging at this point to celebrate their nuptial knots like the world celebrities.
Historically the Clifton town was christened at the spot in 1856, which further got changed to Niagara fall in the year 1881. Subsequently a number of surrounding townships were merged in the Niagara town, which has many superb restaurants, old style hotels and new hotels and it has reached the status of Canadian vacation spot.
