See the Beauty of Lake Louise

One place not to miss when traveling in Canada is Lake Louise. Called the “Diamond in the Wilderness,” is is one of the best places to lose track of time while sightseeing. One glance at the crystal-clear turquoise lake that is being fed by the huge Victoria Glacier in the visible distance is enough to give anyone pause. It’s not a wonder that this is one of the most photographed places in the world.

While skiers will definitely push for a trip here, nature lovers will enjoy is as well. There are hundreds of trails to hike, walk, or use the snowmobile on and these trails are bounded with the most spectacular scenery anyone can hope to find. It’s not called Canada’s Hiking Capital for nothing. In the summer, camping and white water rafting rule the day, another way to deserve that comforting soak in the hot spring waters.

It is still a skier’s heaven for all that. The best downhill skiing in all of Canada is here, as well as the best powder skiing in North America. Coupled with the spectacular scenery of the Canadian Rockies and the glimpses of wildlife every now and then, it’s not a wonder that people flock to this last “bastion of modernity”  before heading out to Alaska.

Although, visitors must be prepared. Lake Louise is a skiing resort akin to those found in the European Alps, not in the US. You won’t find a lot of nightlife here, unlike what is expected when you are in Vail or Aspen. This quiet place places more emphasis on daytime activities that it does on nighttime.

Whenever you want a quiet spot to tire yourself out in the day and then spend the evening with a good book or taking a good stroll after a great meal, then Lake Louise is the place for you to go.
