Kelowna and indeed the whole Okanagan Valley are award-winning producers of wine
You’ve never heard of Kelowna? Don’t worry, you may not be alone. Actually, this place is a secret quite jealously guarded by Canadians because this is where they like to go for their vacations.
Kelowna is in British Columbia, one of the few places in the whole of Canada that have mild winters and warm summers. Just that fact alone will show why many people love to visit. Nestled in Okanagan Valley, it has a micro-climate that keeps it at a balmy, comfortable temperature.
Take a different view of the area and take a seaplane over the mountains and the valley and see where you would like to go. You’ll get unexpected views of alpine lakes and glaciers, something that you just don’t think you’d see in a warm area like this. And don’t worry if you can’t identify a lot of things. Your pilot is a wonderful guide and will be able to tell you everything you want to know and much more besides. If a seaplane is a little too tame, why not book a helicopter tour instead?
Kelowna and indeed the whole Okanagan Valley are award-winning producers of wine and offer wine tours to visitors. There is a tour that you can take which gives you a breath-taking combination of spectacular views and even more spectacular wines. These are done for lunch or dinner, timed for the sunset. If you’re there are the right time, you can enjoy the Okanagan Wine Festival where producers from all over the world come to show off their wares.
Take advantage of the lakes that surround the city and book a fishing tour. These lakes are chock-full of fish and even if you don’t catch any, the quiet on the boat and the beautiful views are reward enough. Lake Trout, Kokanee, and Rainbow Trout are available almost all year round. What a way to travel in Canada!
