Mushuau Innu Band Council Facility Management Department The Facility Management Department (FMD) was created by the Mushuau Innu Band Council in August 2003 to act as the agency to operate and maintain the major facilities in Natuashish. The department assumed the responsibility for the operation and maintenance of INAC formula funded buildings and facilities, as listed below; Ø Band Council Office Ø Maintenance Garage Ø Warehouse Ø School Ø Day Care Ø Fire Hall Ø Water Treatment Plant, Water Mains and Ancillary Buildings & Equipment Ø Sewerage Lagoons, Lift Stations, Sewer Mains and Ancillary Buildings & Equipment Ø Arena Ø Gymnasium Ø Garbage Collection and Landfill Site Ø Roads System Ø Electrical Generation and Distribution
The department also negotiated agreements with other agencies, such as RCMP, Canada Post and Health Canada, for maintenance services of their facilities.
The services provided to these facilities include; Ø Routine Maintenance Ø Preventive Maintenance Ø Mandatory Life Safety Maintenance Ø Janitorial Ø Water Treatment Ø Road Grading Ø Snow Clearing Ø Etc.
The department also operates a heating/diesel fuel bulk storage facility, a heating fuel sales and delivery service, a full service three bay garage, an airline passenger and cargo service and provides Airport maintenance services to the Government of Newfoundland, Transportation and Works.
The department employs thirty-three (33) full and/or seasonal positions, these include;
Ø Plus ten (10) seasonal positions at fuel delivery, garbage collection and janitorial. |
